Node.js, explained simply
JavaScript is the language websites use. Node.js lets you use it for tools and apps on your own computer.
Many command-line tools are built with it. If a guide says you need Node, you install it once.
It comes with npm, a tool for downloading add-ons.
For example, you might install Node, then run a single command to start a tool.
On ITG Now, our free tool guides tell you when a tool needs Node.js and how to check that it is installed.
