YAML, explained simply
YAML is a way to write settings and data in plain text. It uses new lines and indents instead of braces.
It matters because many tools use YAML for their settings. You may need to edit one when you set up a project.
For example, a settings file might list a name, a color and a list of items, one per line.
Spaces matter in YAML. A wrong indent can break the file, so be careful when you edit.
On ITG Now, our free tool guides show YAML settings you can copy, and they point out which lines you need to change.
