JSON, explained simply
JSON is a plain text way to write down data. It uses curly braces and pairs, like a name and its value.
It matters because apps and AI services use it to send data to each other. It is easy for people and programs to read.
For example, a weather app might get back a block of text with a city, a temperature and a time. That block is JSON.
You will often see JSON in settings files for AI tools. Small typos, like a missing comma, can break it.
On ITG Now, our free tool guides show JSON settings you can copy, and they point out the spots you need to change.

JSON vs YAML: what is the difference?
Both store data. JSON uses braces and quotes, while YAML uses indents and is often easier to read.
Why does my JSON file show an error?
Often it is a small typo, like a missing comma or quote. A JSON checker tool can point to the spot.
